What is a super casual game anyway?
Toy's and games
A toy is an object you play with.
A quick look at the strategy canvas of flappy birds, zigzag and crossy road learns us that these super casual games have:
- 1 goal
- 1 or 2 rules
- 2 to 5 objects
- 1 action
- no story
- demands 100% physical skill
These games are so basic that they almost seem a toy. Shouldn't we call them toy games then?
All this got me thinking, maybe we game designers are just trying to hard. Next time you might just keep it simple.
